i considered 3 possibilities:

1) guy is just awesome at this game

2) used a computer program to play the game for him

3) he cheated using game genie, an emulator or savestates



3 was correct. sometimes, if you look at the counter, it'll actually go up rather than down. also, a few bullets hit him and he doesn't die. when facing bowser, he jumped on his head. the only way to beat bowser was to make him fall through the floor. finally, at the end of the video, there's a website. the translation says he used an emulator, lowerd the fps, and used save states.

The lives went down? heh well we now all know the mystery but he kept getting lives after he reached 99. It kept going back to 91 or something.

Man, I used to love this game! That'd be so crazy if you could beat the game that fast and play that way. heh.. I never could get past the uhm 6th world? I played it straight through with no skipping...

I hate the new er... "3-d" or whatever games. Good old platform games for me. The new games are way too complicated . lol.

Makes me all nostalgic and want to go out to buy one. My brother got rid of it a long time ago.
