Help!!
damn my teacher said i have to make my own chemical. but i dont know how. i searched on the web but there is no instructions. does anyone here know how to make silver chloride? (AgCl)
if you do please post a person needs help
look on ur reference table you should see ag and cl and see how many moles of each you need to make it. do u need to make it physically or just explain how you would go about making it?
edit: mole - molecular mass (dont kno wut they call it by u)
i need to make it physically. my final says that i need to make 5 x 10^3 mole of silver chloride. so i did the math and got it to (estimate) 0.717 grams. i’m stuck here because my teacher said I need to run a chemical reaction to make it.
wut kinda chem u taking? this should b easy for me since i take AP chem neways -_- lol, but i'm too tired to figure it out. i guess this is one of those "make ur own lab" kinda thing. FIRST, always write the reaction, make the moles equal. then convert moles to grams....then i guess just mix? lol, i dunno cant think right now

yea your almost correct. since my poor teacher was unable to get AgCl so i have to make my own. do you how to make a chemical reaction to create AgCl so i could get 0.717 g out of it?
u'll prolli hav to mix things to get a double reaction, unless u can get pure chloride gas...can u get that?? i dunno. good luck. i would try mixing silver nitrate and then something with chloride, but i dunno if that would work
Sit on the toilet. Poopie. Take out. Examine. Bring to school.
Balanced reaction:
CaCl2 + 2 AgNO3 -> 2 AgCl + Ca(NO3)2
Net ionic equation:
Cl-(aq) + Ag+(aq) -> AgCl(s)
CaCl2 and AgNO3 form a white precipitate, AgCl. Note that Ca2+ and NO3- are spectator ions (dissolved in solution).
From there, you can centrifuge the solution to extract the precipitate. See the section titled Centrifugation of Precipitates at http://faculty.coloradomtn.edu/jesc...hof/ch2-dir.htm for instructions
wow is that ap chem or u majorin in it?
hahaha wow... i don't get anything anyone is saying except for screwyou... it soulds.. so logical

whoa thanks. now i have another problem with this thing.
this is what i did:
AgNO3 + HCl -> AgCl + HNO3
HNO3 (nitric acid)
how do i get rid of nitric acid?
