because...it gives u wider options and also it allows u to suit to ur own preferences (eg change the hue/saturation slightly etc) also allows u to correct 'mistakes'? i dunno...those r the ones i can think of...hope they make sense LOL -_-;;

i dont think thats exactly a great question, but......u can change edit out things you dont want to be seen, or add things u want to be in there, correct red eye, poor light settings, stuff lyke that, add extra stuff into it.....basically u can make it look however u want to....
