Shakespear quotes...

Yeah yeah, I'm studying Shakespeare right now in Language and I was just wondering if any of you knew any quotes from him...

Posted by huby40 on 04-25-2002 08:48 AM:

from actually him himself or from his plays?

From his plays...

I like a lot but one of my favorites is

"My love sprung from my only hate"

It just touches me!!!

"Cowards die many times before their deaths; The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard, it seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end, will come when it will come".

Julius Caesar Act II Scene II

Here's another one...

"Do you bite your thumb at us, sir???"

Get it??? It's like flicking someone off...

"something is rotten in the state of denmark"

i dun kno it word for word but it was somethin like..
"some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them"

mOo!

"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's leade hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But they eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st:
Nor shall Death brag thou wanser'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee."

- William Shakespeare

Now before you go saying "Aww... how sweet." Historians believe that our old boy William smoked pot and was a homo. So this one went to a guy. "eeeeeeeew...."
