Fastest Computers.
I just dont get the people who buy the fastest computers and spend like $3000 when a month later that price goes down. What do you guys think?

hmm.. fastest computer??? Are you talking internet access??? because my computer is one of the newest and it's no different from the older computers... Just newer versions of things... Oh, it also depends on how much space you are using up in your computer... You know, all that bytes stuff....
But if you are talking internet... doesn't depend on what kind of server you are using? Like DSL, cable, etc...?
hes talkin about the speed of computers
i.e. a 2.4 ghz processor (too damn f-in fast)

I guess it's a debate about what's better, a faster comp, or better value for your money.
Usually, there's a proportion between performance and cost. But the lim as x->top of the line hardware of (Computers) = $^max
So you're paying a premium just because it's the best that the industry's got out there. Some people say that it's an extreme waste, because the value of such top of the line hardware depreciates more quickly than does mid-range hardware. Many enthusiasts think that it's worth it because of the additional, albeit more expensive, performance. And there are always those who buy the most powerful parts just because they've got such copious budgets.
my computer is shit...celeron processor 256 mb of ram...its not even 1ghz...but its a computer meant for school work, not gaming...although i did get a video card and sound card instead of using the integrated ones....
but i believe that computer speeds are necessary for different tasks....obviously gaming would require higher speeds....but as fo everyday use...like word processing or just listening to music...a lower performace computer will do

I believe that most people get stuck on the idea that bigger the number on your processing speed and ram will always equal faster computer.
EX.
Intel vs. AMD
while you'll pay a heft sum for the Intel processor you're only lookin' at paying a quarter of the cost for the AMD processor and usually benchmarks will show that the AMD is faster on everyday applications over Intel's computers. Plus, I know alot of you guys in here like to play computer games, the AMD is far better in both architecture and performance in gameplay over the Intel...
