it's about asian kids~
it was one of the most talked about at the sundance fest~
there was this big issue that different asian groups were playing roles of other asians but siskel or ebert (whoever's not dead) was all vocal about whoever wants to play what in a movie can . . . ne waiz if sum1 sees it, let me know if it's worth checking out please ^^

just get a fake. mine says 21 but it really only works on immigrants cause i tell them i have hodjgens disease so it makes me look like im a lot younger than i am. make sure u get one from out of state also. people dont know what the pennsylvania or massachussets ones look like. o thats only if you were gonna buy one tho. im way off subject.

yea sure..eh..

anyways..i went to see this movie on tuesday and gotta say its a really really nice movie. doesnt have to do with asians or anything like that. just a really nice movie

my sister saw it and she says it wasn't worth the $6 she paid. she said it's realli weird...and from the way she described it to me, i don't think i'll go see it. it has a crappy ending too. maybe i'll rent it in the future one day. there was this one funny part she told me about tho, where the guy's feeding his goldfish and memorizing vocab words. she said the only thing worthwhile was seeing daric's hotness haha

Posted by .aS.|5p!7f!|23 on 04-24-2003 01:14 AM:

damn i was hoping it was gonna be good. maybe theres a deeper message to it that makes it good.

Posted by SiennaSuN on 04-26-2003 09:08 PM:

saw it yesterday~
it was sorta . . . i dunno . . . okay . . . ?
i think kids was more disturbed.
It has that guy Chau from the tv show "off center" in it.
deeper meaning . . .
sure if you want to think about life . . .

i thought it was okai..i liked it as much i liked "the debut"
the ending was somewhat disturbing though.
before i watched it..i heard ebert and rooper gave them 2 thumbs up..so i was assuming it would be a good movie. oh well..it was worth it..in a way.

BLT was about an incident at my school 11 years ago...

iono but if you remembered the Stuart Tay murders aka the Honor Roll Murders dats what BLT is about

sucks... the guy that commited the murder was a valedvictorian about to go to Princeton

Posted by phooky on 05-19-2003 03:00 AM:

wrong, sorry

quote from BLT site

quote:
The impetus of "Better Luck Tomorrow" was inspired by a rash of news stories about violence and teenagers, an issue that lately seems to pop up every other week. At the time, I worked a lot with youth in both media and sports, and I felt that if I were to take 10 credit cards and make a film, it would deal with the issues that were important to me, and to the people I knew and worked with. This question regarding similarities to the Sunny Hills case has been asked in Q&A's before. My response has always been the same: that "Better Luck Tomorrow" is not based on Stuart Tay's murder. I only know of the tragic event through newspapers and television, like everyone else. At the very beginning of the writing process, I made a conscious decision not to base it on that, or any other, real event. I didn't know the people or the details of what exactly happened, and out of respect to the people associated with the case and their families, I did not want to misrepresent them. Also, as an artist I wanted to explore and deal with issues and themes that are independent of true people and events.

what a relief

Posted by k M i n G on 05-22-2003 02:40 AM:

go watch the movie.. its virtually a remake of the stuart tay murder

1. they kill the guy the same way (in a garage w/ baseball bats and alcohol)
2. Bury him the same way (outside in the backyard)
3. One of the guys was editor in chief of the school newspaper
4. The girl was a cheerleader
5. school colors were the same

i could go on and on....

he sez he didnt copy it... but if you read the LA Times new articles after u watch the movie u will realize how similar they actually are
