requiem for a missed chance

heres a lil poem... i had a lil splurge come on...

if everything could feel this real forever
if anything could be this good again
i would give my life, what ever
because nothing would be a greater gain

the deepest eyes ive ever seen
the playful bobbed hair, bouncing
and your mind ever so keen
your spirit ever so surprising

you just don't seem to know
what i have hidden in my heart
even in times i felt so low
you always gave me that jump start

whatever i couldn't do
i could always seem to do with you
i guess it wasn't enough of a clue
to show how few i love like you

theres nothing, no last resort
because i was a day too late
and a heart beat short
from what should be fate

i lost you to time
but if i had a chance to go back
there wouldn't be this rhyme
because you are all that i lack...

dedicated to the one that got away
