Because if there was ever mouse flavored cat food, then the cats would eat the cat food more often instead of being active and catching a real mouse. This would result in the cat:

- Being lazy
- Multiple instances of rodent population growth worldwide.

do you get these from that email that was sent around?

besides, cat's catch mice out of recreation and lack of other foods. if they had the choice, cats would eat all the things we eat.

To catch mice is a game for cats. Most of them really play with the mice, but because they're so small the game is often to hard for the mice. You can see it, if you take a laser pointer for example. The cat will try to catch the spot. It want's to play. Or you take a ball. All what is so small the cat will try to catch.
They don't eat the mice most time.
