Early impressions

When i was little, my grandma would always tell me horror stories about WWII. She said how the Japanese came and burned down all of the villages and killed a lot of people, how they had to run to the mountains to avoid being killed and how she returned to find her parents dead. Then i'd always say how i'd build a really big bomb and destroy japan for what they did... well i guess i was kinda beaten to the punch by about 50 years!

but seriously, i'm glad i didn't continue to grow with this hate...

has anything your parents/grandparents told you shaped your ideas when you were young but then your ideas changed as you grew older because you learned more?

[edit] sorry please move to family and friends if you think it's necessary

moved.

most of the things that my parents/grandparents told me i still hold with today. i haven't had any major discrepancies over points of view with them before, because i realize eventually that almost everything they tell me they're right about anyway.
