You can buy a calculator, pencils, and graphing paper at CVS. Rulers and other handy things too.

Area of a circle = (Pi)(r^2)
r is the radius
pi is pi
plug in the numbers and solve. does that help? I'm lost as to what you don't understand still.

i think he/she is talking about 2 circles. one inside of another. or maybe they are overlapping. I think he/she is confused about getting the area of the shaded or unshaded cirlce. Am i close?

shaded areas...like half of the circle shaded? or a shaded circle inside a circle?
