Poem: The Damned

The Damned

Born to an uncaring world
Only to immerse oneself.
Gluttony: of the seven.
Unclean and unholy creature!
Then, as swiftly as one was born,
He is slaughtered
To serve a "higher authority".
What higher authority are we to serve?

I wrote it just randomly. I recently bought this pig (yes a real live pig) and I'm raising it for a fair. It's really fun but I know in the back of my mind where my pig will be in 2 months; it just makes you question things...

I ended up using it for a free write assignment that I didn't know was due.
