What ya'll feelin more? Underground hip hop? or mainstream hip hop?

i gotta stick with underground...although i do like a lot of mainstream artists

that's true, but i really like nelly's happy-go-lucky songs. i mean, who else would write a song about shoes?? haha i find them really easy to listen to. but as for hardcore hip hop, underground is where it's really at.

yea ludacris still put out good music, nas, etc but like what tony said mainstream music gets played out

What underground stuff do you guys listen to?
Only recently I was introduced to Aesop Rock.. Busdriver, Cunninlynguists.. Tech N9ne and the likes..
I have been listening to Blackalicious, J5, & Del for a while... a few more but those artists I enjoy most.

a mix of both, with more emphasis on underground I suppose (not in the sense of unsigned artists, but lesser known acts). I prefer progressive music, but at the same time I like to have fun as well, though I choose wisely in what mainstream artists I like.

Relative to mainstream artists who are well-known, I'll disclose my favorite non-mainstream artists:
Dead Prez, Mr. Lif, Talib Kweli, Jurassic 5
