What are your opinions of Cal Poly?

I chose Cal Poly over Davis, Irvine, and Santa Barbara...does anyone have any opinions on the school? Does anyone go to Cal Poly? And we're talkin about San Luis Obisbo here...I would love to talk wit someone who is currently goin there

Cause for sum programs like Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, it is rated higher than or equal to schools like Davis and Berk. Wow, I hate lil punks like you who think u have the answers to everything but in real your makin an ass outta yourself. I know a lot of people who didn't get in cal poly but got in UCSD. Anyway, considering you have no argument for yourself, that was a waste response.

i go to UC Berkeley, but from what i heard, Cal Poly SLO isn't a bad school at all. but then again, don't take my word for it.

as far as ranking goes, ranking are biased and don't take into consideration what's really important to a student. rankings usually go by funding and research done at a particular school. UC Berkeley is ranked as one of the best research school. does that mean that the organic chemistry class is the best? no. there's no indication of that. teachers make a class great, not a ranking. don't even consider ranking.

ok, that rant done, what do you want to do at CPSLO anyway? what's your intended major? what do you like to study?

I am majoring COmputer SCience, the reason Cal Poly appeals to me is because they are a more practical school. I plan on continuing my Cisco Networking education and I don't like to study as much. Also, I think its cool how you start your major the first two years.

i went to visit my friends at calpoly... it smells like cow sometimes and the downtown area is kinda small .... dont worry my friend chose calpoly over uc berk... if they focus on ur major more then it doesnt matter
