I never notice if a dude even has the slightest bit of interest. so i'm blind and unexperienced in the "playing hard to get" department.
but the main reason girls do it is because they want the guy to go that little extra before they can allow the dude to take 'em out or whatever.
It's mainly kind of a hook to pull ya in.
That's just my opinion.

face the facts buddy, single guys will always want what they can't have. girls know this and they definitely don't want to acknowledge themselves as an easy catch... that's why they don't submit to you so quickly or easily once they figure out you have an interest in them. if you don't want to put up with the chase, then don't play the game in the first place.
