Random Drug Testing Allowed in Public High Schools
In June, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that public high schools are allowed to conduct random drug tests among their students, even if school officials do not suspect any wrongdoing.
The decision applies to students who join competitive after-school activities – such as debate club, band and yearbook - or teams. Previously, only student athletes were subject to random drug tests.
