but here it is.. the work x+2y=0 (take a "x" from both sides) 2y=-x (divide both sides by 2) y=-(1/2)x then switch x's and y's x=-(1/2)y solve for y by multiplying both sides by -2 y=-2x is the answer :rolleyes
