you took IB four years? They only count in the junior and senior years for the diploma. Our school doesn't even let you take some of them until those years so they don't fill up with underclassmen...so the upperclassmen have an assured spot in them.
Yeah, but you can't take more than 4 HL's if you want to get the diploma, it sucks. I'm glad i didn't take 7 HL's though, that'd be hella hard, and soooo much work. Well colleges recognize SL language courses for credit from a lot of colleges, i hear that more are recognizing SL for math now too. I don't know why they don't recognize the SL courses, they are hella hard. It's not like the SL math is easier than AP. Anyway, i think it's just a matter of time before it's all counted, cause IB still isn't that widespread in the US.
Honestly, i don't see how the IB diploma helps, no colleges i've seen have even recognized it, except like cambridge hah. It's a shiite load of work to do for something that may not even help you at all. I hope it does, but it doesn't seem like it yet...and i have ill hopes, from people who've done it and say it doesn't hah.
But yeah, I agree with evax in that IB is hard mostly because of the insane amount of work there is to do for it. I'll outline some aspects of it...first off, almost every single class has an oral component (like 10 minute presentation), and like 4 essays. Yeah, like EVERY class, except math and physics almost, it's terrible. Do they think we have so much time? haha it's as if they think we only have that class for our school life. Anyway, so there's that, the tests from what i hear are incredibly broad, especially IB math HL exam, so you have to know about like everything. And to get the diploma you have to pass all your exams, write another essay...but this time it's 4000 words (20 some pages), do 150 hours of categorically prescribed community service, and just make sure that you take at least 3 HL's, and 3 SL's, or 4 HL's, and 2 SL's (i'm doing the latter), and throughout all that make sure you maintain an average of a 4 i believe (scale: 0-7). BTW, HL's are "higher level" courses that are 2 years, and SL's are standard level which are one year courses. Anyway, i'd say it's as hard as AP (I still think they are harder, but i'm sure the math is harder personally), but with a crazy amount of work attached onto it. I think it's hard haha, messing up my GPA...I hate it...ahhh. Going crazy like EvaX did....haha ...i'm just going to laugh it off now.
