Geforce 3 Ti200 128 MB
175 MHz GPU
400 MHz RAM

Overclocked Speed

210 MHz GPU
470 MHz RAM

It seems that if i push it any further the colors on the screen get distorted and it locks up during boot.

www.tweaktown.com

they have a special guides section tah teaches you how to overclock your computer and everything. and another special section for geforce card users.

also, if you have anything above a geforce ti4200, dun really overclock. it is powerful enough to really feel any difference.

enabling Coolbits in the Nvidia Detonator drivers allows one to manually adjust the core frequency/memory clock

regarding YaaMaKoh's advice on not overclocking Ti4400/4600 cards: I believe he/she may be referring to the overclockability of the Ti4200 to Ti4600 speeds because of identical architectures, while the Ti4600 does not have as great an overclocking potential from its original frequencies. Then again, people always try to overclock the latest and greatest from a company's product line, so decide for yourself

(as well as the actual graphics card )

In either case, many people still feel that the benefits outweigh the disadvantages

one being the one about the shortened life span.

your video card will most likely be outdated in about 6 months so there's no use complaining that factory life is shortened by several years.

its strange. you know that overclocking automatically ruins the warranty, but people still do i guess everyone wants to push their hardware beyond the limit.

not really... just buy a new heatsink for ur vid card, (powerful, noisy, yet acceptable) and your part wont get prematuraly damaged. i jus clocked my geforce 4ti4200 to 4600 performance, and i noticed my computer is MUCH louder and vibrating like crazy, but still hasn't locked up yet. cant go any higher or else ill get white lines and games freezes. so its all up to you, i just wanted to get higher benchmarkes on futuremark 2003 (direct x9) and im very satisfied with the results. i think mines clocked at 295mhz / 618. not nearly as fast as the ge4ti4600, but pretty damn close.

fuck it, i declcocked back to normal. my computer kept locking up and was producing tremedous amount of heat.. (after 10 mins of using the computer ite feels like its about to burn)

overclocking gave me an extra 100 points in 2003 bench. but i dont think its really worth it...

nah watercooling i dont like it that much. go for those air cooling systems. much better and a heck a lot safer. i have 1 myself. its good. i have to admit it is a little louder than water but then at least you know that it wont leak out and fry your systems. and the installation is easy.

i did a huge project on water cooling. its only if you wanan go all out..i don't really care either way, but now that i have it ill use it. it won't leak out on you if you pay attention to what you are doing. best i can say is stick to air tho, sav time.

go water cooling if your willing to shell out couple hundred bucks. Just make sure you know what the hell you are doing. i've heard horror stories about boot failures and amd chipsets frying in a matter of milliseconds and the infamous water leak that just fucks up everything in your computer. i've seen some crazy alternatives to air cooling these days. Vapor Cooling and processors reaching negative degrees celcius using some forms of liquid are just some of the few.
just keep in mind that water cooling needs alot of attention because you need to replace the water every so often and make sure there arent any leaks. And if you are going to go watercooling buy yourself a trustworthy surge protector.
