changing drive names

is it possible to change the hard drive letters inside xp? for example i want my D:\ hard drive to be E:\ hard drive.

Go to control panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management. Find the drive you want, right click, change drive letter.

uhhh why would you fdisk it O_o


Just remember, that any shortcuts you have;

Example: Installed games.


You install a game that needs a CD to run, and it'll still look for it as the #Drive.

not good if you renamed it.

no you dont get it. my drives for some reason changed their drive letters. i think i accidentally changed them. so they used to be all screwed up. now its better.

just put your main to C:\ , it doesnt really look cooler if you change it...

nah. i have 2 hard drives and 1 of them partitioned. so everything is pushed back 1. so my dvd is f: and cdrw: is g:
