bernie mac, the little kid who said "never touch a black man's do," lucy liu, and shia hiding/interacting in the hood were the best aspects of the movie.
It was not good. Female empowerment in sexuality...for some reason i just cannot like chick flicks like this. So overtly sexy, and objectifying...i just do not like their rejoicing it. But, to each his own of course. Or her.
Most of the parts that were supposed to be funny were predictable, if it was not predictable then it was either slapstick comedy performed by cameron diaz that was not so funny to me (e.g. tripping over a couch), or it was genuinely funny and then it was in a scene with bernie mac in all honesty. I just cannot seem to laugh genuinely at watching cameron diaz act stupid and ditzy, which other people seem to be able to do. It really is lame humor. I think people are just happy to see those three girls together having fun, and becuase of that they have fun and that leads to laughter for the most part becuase thye enjoy it. There is nothing notable about the comedy in the movie, nor the action sequences, nor the story. They have been marketing the movie, all three of the girls, as "they are just having fun, and [they] hope we all will have fun when we see it." A "girls just wanna have fun" campaign, all three of them have said it at some point in every interview i have seen with one or all of them. In all, i do not think this plea for the audience to have fun does enough to make this a genuinely good movie.
It was like a real life scooby doo, all the clues came together on their own far fetched intellect and they all pieced everything together as if they were neo-velma's in charlie's angels. The stunts are unbelievable, and by that i do not mean amazing...i mean they are just not believable. I never looked forward to the fight scenes becuase they are just mediocre in all honesty. My expectations really were not so high, this movie just was not that great...really.
I thought this was going to be better, but it really was not. Do not see it. Yeah, seems like i am an oddity here being one of the few that do not like it. But, i really did not like this movie. Decent is the best compliment i can give it.
