having problems and need help

i need some help from the computer experts. i just bought Mcafee VirusScan 7.0 and i tried to install it. everything was fine until the end where it needed to restart the computer. after it rebooted a popup appeared saying "virus definitions corrupted. please reinstall mcafee". i read the product guide and did some troublshooting. i tried each of the following: deleted all of the contents in my windows temp folder, disk defrag, disk cleanup, and scan disk(it took a long ass time to finish). after i did each of these i uninstalled it and tried to reinstall but the same thing happened.

My operating system is windows 2000.

please help!

try typing the error message in yahoo and search for it. usually it would come up with a website with a similar or exact problems so they can help you fix it. look for step-by-step helpers.

hmmm... make sure when you uninstall you click custom uninstallation and check everything so that it'll be a clean install
if not, get a refund
