this is a good movie.
However, if you are not a fan of the survival horror type akin to resident evil then you will probably never like it. The story is the classic T virus resident evil bit, with a twist in their spreading, slightly. They were experimenting on monkeys and the minute a monkey bit a human, it all began to cascade from there. Unique to this is that it spread among different species as well. The movie is very well done, the scenes with an empty london and the like are quite an odd sight. The cheesiness is minimal, and the actors are well picked.
The acting worked, so to anyone who thinks it sucked. Just examine the script. It is hard to come off as an excellent actor when you are given lines like that. They are well played, and the zombies were not docile/slow moving mindless creatures. They had the agility of a human being and could be quite clever in some instances.
My favorite aspect of this movie is how the story is played out. It is not a resident evil "kill em all" mission. It is a survivor, how will we continue our lives and ressurect civilization movie. *spoiler kind of* The construction of the martial law society struck me as really quite real. *end of spoiler* I would think that would be what would happen if this happened in real life as well. What happened to the rest of the world is really interesting as well. The characters did not just care about living, they had a world perspective that makes it more realistic and satisfying. The movie is better than resident evil, and it achieved what i think RE tried to become.
The story is really not so bad, it appeals to my liking of this genre. And, the ending was perfect, i am not sure why no one liked it. *spoiler* did you want the zombies to take over the earth or to have them come back or something? *end of spoiler*
in all, see it if it appeals to you. If it does not, do not expect it to become appealing after you have seen it, becuase it won't.
