online/long distant love..

I'm just wondering how many people really believe in that? I mean is it more of a t.v/movie thing or do people really find tru love thru internet and or maintaining a long distance relationship?

Seriously.. for some people its amazingly hard to even maintain a relationship in real life.. where the person lives a mile or two miles away.. then how do people that have never met or that lives thousands and thousands of miles away actually maintain it?

I know it really depends on the person.. b/c in every case its diff. but I really want to hear someone actually saying my tru love was fround thru internet, or my husband right now was from 3 years of long distance relationship.. ect. you know?

does anyone really know or had experienced this and would like to share?

hah. everytime i hear about online relationships .. im always reminded about that Match.com commericial. when they're all at the church and this one lady gets up and says " Thas where i met mah BOYFREN!"

hah. sorry off topic. -_- .. well it doesn't matter ... well there already is a thread about internet dating ... and long distance relationships ... but my take.

love is love. distance shouldn't hinder that in any way. though it may complicate a relationship, if two people truly care about one another. they will be able to make it thru somehow. though it might not involve seeing each other every hour at every waking moment, their love will surpass any obstacle, including distance.

i think well..its kinda hard to really tell what the person is like if you can't talk to them face to face. or like if there is real chemistry...nothing beats looking eye to eye with someone you love! right? but still who knows, there seems to be a lot of successful long distance relationships.

but for me, nah i'll pass

It all counts on both partners, as it takes two to make a relationship. IMO, both partners must be willing to make the relationship work, put in time for each other, try their best to visit each other, both must really love each other, etc. Oh, yeah, and both must be mature enough to deal with such a difficult situation. Hey, it worked for my friend's uncle, who after a couple of years of a long-distance relationship, he finally got married to the girl.

For me, long-distance didn't work, because I have a tendency to idealize about the person than actually treat them like they really are a person, and end up liking the ideal and not them. Let's leave it at that, you KNOW what problems that can cause. Oh, but the relationship still worked for about 9 months because I was so obsessed about her (not love, dude, obsessed, that's exactly what I was talking about with liking the ideal and not the person). I rarely got to visit her anyway.

yea lets face it, online relationships are Bullcrap. it may happen, but chances are extremely low. i remember like maybe a year or 2 ago, Blizzard official site actually posted up
that 2 ppl got together and got married after meeting each other online playing Diablo2...

kinda lame... hey if they are happy. no ones stopping them. but personally i think if u cant see ur gf / bf at least once every 2 weeks, its stupid. (unless theres some situation like they had to go to another continent to go study or something...)

I had online relationships like 3 times.. hahaha and they all lasted for a long time.. You may not always see them but get to like talk to them you know..? Online relationship are like real life relationship only you just don't talk in person.. you talk on the phone.. and online.. but... sometimes online relationships are gay because you can't be with the person you like.. Erfs.. My two boys I loved so much but they broke up with me.. They were like so sweet and smart and caring.. and had good personalities.. Don't know if you call that true love.. hahaha I don't know what I'm talking about

ive met alot of chicks online in person, like the one i took to dennys..god she was horrible person...most suck!! *bleh* but i once found a good one and we got togethere.....then it went downhill....never ever get with anyone that u met online....run!!!

the only reason they last longer is cuz its almost impossible to get in an argument. arguments i see between my friends and their gf/bf are always like over things they get concerned with after hanging out. if u know what i mean..*shrug*
or you can't get jealous of the other preson cuz u have no clue wat they are doing.

online relationships i must declare bullshit. u dont even see the person the relationship goes no further then friends. i mean wat do u tell ur friends i got a (gf/bf) online? wow ur cool.....(i hope i didnt offend anyone in my opinion cause im known for being very wrong)

although i don't understand internet love, i won't put someone down for it. and the long distant love...i dunno. the two persons would have to have total trust, loyalty, and honesty in the other. and if they really wanted to make it work, i believe that it will work out. well, i've never been in either of the two scenarios..so yea

I have a friend whose brother had a long distance relationship. I don't know where they got to know each other, but that relationship worked 2 years. They broke up coz they got too good friends...in the end of the reletionship it was more like a very special best friendship than a relationship. So they decided to break and be friends.

For me...I really would like to try that...hehe...there's this one guy... I got to know him in a forum in April last year. He began to e-mail me coz of a chocolate thiny...haha... And then we e-mailed every day...not just once a day, but 5-10 times a day...I believe my record was 17 mails in one day. We still e-mail every day
He's my best friend and he's so cuuute and yeah my feelings are really more for him but....I don't know what he feels for me.... I think he's interested in another girl, but she seems not being really interested in him. I don't know.... I hope I'll know what he's feeling soon....maybe a valentine surprise...

Thx you guys.. yes I know this has been posted .. but I wanted to hear real life situations this time.. like real experiences people had..

It seems that some people wasnt too successful, but others had it pretty good.. so well .. thx again..

Me personally .. well if people really believe in true love it'll work.. if they dont.. then online/long distance is not their thing..

my families friend found her bf online puahaha and they probably might get married
her mom is so happy his her bf because he's nice and he's chinese
they'd been together some a couple of years
when they get breaks from their college he comes and stays at her house
he's nice ^_^
